About
The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) is strategically located in the Taiwan Strait, 8 to 17 km off Taiwan’s west coast, at water depths ranging from 7 to 35m. Spanning across 82km², the project features 80 wind turbine generators (WTGs), generating electricity and feeding it into the Taiwanese grid via two onshore substations in Taixi and Sihu, Yunlin County. Under two 20-year power purchase agreements with Taiwan Power Co. (TPC), the project ensures long-term renewable energy supply for Taiwan. Supported by a robust financial consortium of local and international banks as well as export credit agencies, the 640 MW Yunlin OWF is one of Taiwan’s largest offshore wind farms, which generates clean renewable energy for over 600,000 Taiwanese households, whilst saving 1,200,000t of CO2 emissions annually, delivering lasting value to the clean energy transition and the society.
